Having got my first three chapters completed earlier in the week, I have bravely sent them (via Google Docs) to a couple of friends, to get their opinions. They are both rather knowledgeable regarding matters literary (one is the daughter of an author, the other studied English at both Oxford and Cambridge), so I know that their advice will be useful. I'm just rather nervous about receiving it...

Good luck Ellie. I know how scary it is when you first send your 'baby' out there. You want people to coo and tell you how beautiful it is rather than wrinkle their nose and tell you it's not the prettiest baby they've ever seen! Hope you get fantastic feedback :o)
Thanks, am trying not to think about it too much, so obviously it has completely taken over my brain! One of them is reading it tonight, so I should have some feedback fairly quickly. I just don't know if this is a good thing yet!
best of luck ellie. Only just caught up with your blog but I know just what it's like - fingers crossed re feedback!
Feedback is always scary, letting your baby out into the wide world; but they sound like folk who will have the sense to be constructive.
Good luck. Hopefully they won't make you wait to long for their feedback.
Just a heads up to say your hosting coffee on Firdau the next two weeks. if there's problem let me know!
Thanks :-)
Well done for taking the plunge. And do let us know what they say.
