I've heard back from one of my lovely reviewers, and am very relieved because she liked my chapters! She also made an interesting point about the genre of my story - she couldn't tell which it was. Thinking about this, it became obvious why. I have no idea either... I think I need to do a bit of thinking!
Don't tie yourself down to a genre , for Heaven's sake. When people ask what your genre is, just say "Fabulous!"
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea! I'll try that!
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie, Please can you email me about the logistical side of the NR meet?
ReplyDeleteEmail on the profile, I couldn't find email for you on your blog.

I have similar problems with genre, but my agent says not to worry about it!
ReplyDeleteI wrote about this at greater length in the comments box of your "coffee break" post over on Novel Racers...
I'm with Helen on the genre thing ~ maybe just write it as it "is", and then let an agent / publisher decide on the marketing side.
ReplyDeleteGood news on the nice feedback :-)
Belatedly - having just returned from a comments break - congratulations! I hope your thinking is bearing fruit.
